Should I leave my motorcycle helmet chained up to my bike?

Hi. I have recently bought a Honda cg 125 and wondered if when parked in a multistory car park, whether it is safe to chain my motorcycle helmet to my bike? Many thanks

Some motorcyclists have bumped cars and knocked car mirrors off. Hence, some car drivers do not like all motorcyclists. When they find a motorcycle without a rider around, no one watching, the helmet is stolen and tossed into the trash -- pay back for getting their mirrors broken. Slicing your helmet only takes a second more, and your will helmet be cut and still tossed into the trash.

If you want to keep the helmet, keep the helmet with you.

If you cannot keep the helmet with you, lock it inside a lockable hard top box.

I know it's a silly question but I'm new to biking (not motorcycles I mean regular 10 speed biking) and I get nervous riding in traffic (although law in my state says I have to and cannot be on the sidewalk). What makes me most nervous is going around parked cars or piles of leaves in the bike lane since I can't see what the cars are doing behind me. I'm not confortable turning around because I'm so new to biking I'm afraid to take my eyes off what's in front ot me. Can a bike have a review mirror? Where can I buy one?

It is absolutely not a silly question!

Bikes come with handle-mounted review mirrors, but these are dependent on whether your handles/wheel are straight or not. (If you're going around a sharp bend, the mirror becomes somewhat useless.)

They have neat little mirrors that attach to your helmet, which you should be wearing at all times anyway (and these days *not* wearing a helmet makes you look foolish, as opposed to the opposite, back in the 80s lol).

But I would look for a more rectangular one that is slightly convex so you get a wider view of what's behind you.

Bike question! I need help.?

I am 12 and live 3 miles from my school. Due to gas and exercise, I want to bike to school and to other places. On one street I go on the bike lane. What accessories should I get? (ex. water bottle holder, mirrors on helmet, etc.) Thanks for your help!

3 miles on bike is kind of far but its ok.

You definitely need a helmet. and be sure it fits, suits you well and that you ALWAYS wear it. I know you might here that a lot but lots of people have died because they got in a bike accident and weren't wearing their helmet.
Some people have little "bike fanny packs" where a little seat fanny pack is on the back of your seat but if you'll have a bag, then it won't be needed.
You should have a cargo carrying thing in the back( idk what its called). You attach it to the top of you back wheel and with some bungee ropes you can put your bag there, or a basket in the front but that's a little girly :D
You do need a water bottle holder because you definitely will get thirsty.
Mirrors aren't necessary because honestly, you can just turn but you can never be to safe.
BTW
Be prepared for biking almost every single day because 3 miles back and forth every day is a lot.
WEAR DEODORANT OR ANTIPERSPIRANT! because you might be late someday and be really fast but either your late or not, you need it. Antiperspirant is better because all deodorant has aluminum in it and can give you cancer and deodorant only takes the stink away, antiperspirant takes the stink and liquid away.

When riding a bike are you supposed to go with traffic or against it?

What I mean by this is when I ride my bike can I go on the side of the road where I can see traffic coming or do I have to be riding the same way that traffic is riding? Riding the same way traffic is riding would mean my back would be to the cars and that makes me nervous.
I live in Michigan, by the way. If that makes any difference.
Ugh, this sucks. I don't want freaking unknown people in cars behind my back. Not all drivers pay attention and are safe. I'd feel much safer seeing what is coming. At least riding against traffic I would know that when I see them, they probably can see me too.
I honestly don't understand how it's safer to have cars behind you when you're riding a bike.

A bike is a vehicle so ride with traffic. Wear a helmet and use a mirror to see behind you.

Edit:
You don't want to ride around a blind curve at 15 mph with a car coming the other way at 40 mph. The closing speed will be 55 mph. It you rode with traffic the closing speed will be 25. The chances of a driver seeing you is greatly increased.

What is a good sport street bike that handles wind on freeways?

I dont like the big ones that look like cop bikes but more so the ninja style or r1 style. Which one slips through the wind best. I do freeway driving and was wondering which sport/street bike is best at handling buffeting winds?
Thanks for responding you guys but more specifically what is a good sport bike that cuts through the wind the best. I know all bikes have wind issues but some are worse than others and some are better. For example a Katana is not really good at stopping winds. I know you can get like a Goldwing but those fat ugly bikes I don't like. Was curious what sport bike is best if you have ridden any over 70 mph on the freeway.

The best ones for cutting through the wind are the ZX-12, ZX-14, and Hyabusa. The bodywork on these bikes is designed for maximum top speed - which is basically a ratio of horsepower to wind resistance. The bulbous lines minimize turbulence.

It seems like every year, the latest sportbikes put the rider closer forward, with a shorter windshield. Pretty soon, we'll all be sitting on the front tire and wearing helmets with rear-view mirror stalks attached. Which one is the best? R1, CBR1000RR, Ninja ZX-10R, or GSXR-1000? They're all basically the same - pretty bad at wind protection. But they are all very nice vehicles with an awesome ability to compress space-time. Take your pick, then become a die hard fanboi for life. They're all that good.

I've come to love biking, ever since I was on an exchange where I had to bike to work which took about an hour. And now, I'm back in the extremely busy streets of my hometown and want to commute to university by biking. It's just that there are so many cars here and I don't want to get injured. :( What should I do?
