So I got a summer job and made a lot and put it into my vines account and I made a limit of how much I'll be spending and this year I'll be spending $1500 on whatever I want except a car because I'm 14. So I was thinking do I get a SWAT airsoft loudout with high quality bdu, vests, knee pads, elbow pads, helmet, holsters, guns, radios etc... And also with a WE PDW gbb airsoft rifle with 3 mags and a umarex 1911 co2 blowback gun(x2) and a m14, shotgun for my friends whenever they come over so they have a gun, and get a lot of accessories like scopes a lot of ammo Mags and stuff like that and the total would be $1120.56 from amazon, evike, and airsoft megastore.... Or get a 2012 diomondback mountain bike, amber fathom bmx bike, era solo rollerblades, a helmet, camelback Highdration pack, a lot of cool clothes from amazon and hottopic(not goth clothes). And the total of that would be $1114.90

Thanks to any answers and don't say "save it" because I put over 4,000 in the bank (from my job and mowing lawns)

Thanks

Oh and with the airsoft I live literally right on the mountain and my friends and I have big airsoft wars up there but it's also good for mountain biking

Answer
I would get all the airsoft equipment and the bike if u have enough so u have a little of both

Is the 2012 W giant boulder mountain bike good for a beginner? I will be using it on roads and light trails?

Kristen

I went to a bike shop and that was what the guy offered me. The total price for a helmet and the bike minus a discount would be $362. It seems like a good deal, but I'm not a bike aficionado so if anyone has any input that would be great! Thank you!
By "light trails" I mean the beginner activities...nothing that is actually on a mountain or a desert. I live in south florida so everything is pretty much flat. There are some mountain bike trails in local parks and I think it would be pretty neat to be able to ride them. Is the giant boulder mountain bike a good fit, or should I go with something else? My budget is pretty low. I don't want to spend more than $350 for a bike.

Answer
I would go with a comfort or hybrid bike instead. Mountain bikes suck on the road and not much better on hard packed bike paths. A Cypress or Suede would be better and more comfortable.

i've decided to use this old mongoose mountain bike that has been sitting in a shed for years to commute from home to work or near by stores. do they make for good commuter bikes? my home town (Tucson) is known for being a bike rider hotspot, but i hear about people on bikes being struck by vehicles often. i figured if i use the mountain bike i could ride on the dirt aside the roads instead of the tiny bike lanes on them. thoughts? opinions? thanks!

Answer
You may not like this answer... I use a mountain bike occasionally for "Urban Assault" riding. And it's a damn good one - the same kind the police use.

It has lock out front forks & city tires. If that Mongoose has suspension forks & they can't be "locked out" - bad choice for a "commuter bike". But...at least install some Kenda Kross tires on it.

The key to commuting in the city is being SEEN! Designated bike lanes are a joke. Separate but equal my @ss! Bike lanes put you to the far right - out of the "line of sight" of most tunnel vision motorists. Whenever there's a designated bike lane - I hug the LEFT part of it & go out into the traffic lane if need be. Most of these bike lanes also put you right smack dab in the "door zone" should some fool not look first before opening a car door.
