What kind of helmet do I need for Mountain Biking?

I plan to get a really nice $200 mountain bike in the next couple of days, but I have really no idea what kind of helmet I'd need for Mountain biking. A few of my friends say that a regular bicycle helmet will work, but I am concerned that if I somehow fall of the bike, and hit my head on a tree, that a regular bike helmet would break.

I was thinking of getting one of those full face helmets, similar to those helmets that Dirt Bike riders wear. Is that okay, or is it completely unnecessary?

You will find the full face helmets hot and very uncomfortable to wear. A mountain bike helmet with or without a visor would be a great choice.

You do not have to go high digit for a helmet. What you get for more money is a lighter, cooler, with better air flow and suspension systems. The companies make helmets to fit different shaped heads SO DO NOT just buy one. Try on several brands. There are some companies helmets that I cannot wear... they are painful to put on.

It's not bad, although you are saying things in your paraphrasing that are not in the original paragraph. For example, your sentence, "Helmet usage is most prevalent for children" which implies that helmets are most used by children (the definition of prevalent is "widely or commonly occurring"); there's nothing in the first paragraph that indicated most children wear helmets. I think you're meaning to say most "important" or most "necessary" for children; "prevalent" is the wrong word there.
And you can take out the two commas in the last sentence. They are unnecessary.

Honestly, paraphrasing usually entails shortening and tightening up something but, in your case, the paragraph is longer.

You could say "Helmet usage is most important for children, who account for half of bicycle-related fatalities." That makes it a little shorter and, actually, more accurate as the first paragraph refers to "fatalities" in children and not "injuries" as you have it.
Make sure when you are paraphrasing that you are not changing the facts as well.

Does anyone feel that the USA has no right putting missiles in Germany?

Isn't this what the NATO and the United Nations are responsible for? Are you tired of the USA always sticking their nose into things that should be dealt with by already in place by the United Nations. Do you think Bush again jumped into putting the American people second. And not even considering the ramification it may mean how the world looks at us. Isn't this how we ended in Iraq, Bush satisfying a vendetta Saddam had out on Bush Sr. life. And lied about WMD's to try to make his case, even before the United Nations had a chance to work.

I think it's up to the Germans really. As a random musing, I read somewhere that the Israelis thought that Patriot Missiles ( of 1991 Gulf War vintage) did not actually work (ie intercept incoming missiles) , which could somewhat defeat the object of the whole exercise, really, unless they have improved since then.

A part of me always regards a lot of these weapons as scams against the taxpayer, really, especially the really expensive ones. You know, the ones that someone aims at you from 2,000,000,000 kilometres squared away from you, then it arrives, knocks on your front door, goes upstairs and looks for you under hiding under the bed. The ones that cost £34455503283-59p to blow up someone driving to work in Iraq.

A lot of these systems are a bit like building pyramids, except the Egyptians did not demolish the pyramids after thirty years and then bill the taxpayer for another lot.

I do wonder, and I am not an expert, what use are nuclear weapons and hi-tech weaponry in general, against people who use bicycles and Datsun pickup trucks, communicate by passing notes to each other? and use automatic rifles and suicide belts? I would have thought you would have needed more old-fashioned infantry with big boots and helmets, the sort of people who donât want to join the Army in the UK as the salaries are so poor, perhaps as much of the money has gone on pyramid-like nuclear weapons that will be dismantled, God willing, in thirty years time.

Where could I get bicycle helmets which aren't ugly?

I am considering buying a bike to get around town. The one I want is a vintage style women's bike (I wear dresses most days). The thing is I can only find ugly, sporty looking helmets. I'm not going to buy a bike without a helmet
