bicycle helmets useless image
Q. Am about to buy a bicycle helmet. All the ones I see look goofy and insectile. Don't they have funky ones? Like a WW I German helmet with the spike. I know they make those out of tin, and it would probably be useless if really needed.

Believe me, when you're riding a bike, no one is going to be saying "look at that weirdo in their helmet." Wearing a helmet and riding a bike come in the same package... If you're riding a bike, people will not even bat an eye at your helmet.
If anything, the people that stand out to me are the people who DON'T wear helmets.
Wear a helmet, always. Even if the law doesn't say you have to wear one, wear one anyway.
Also, this is an important note... if you happen to have a minor crash and your helmet hits something, but doesn't break or show any damage, you MUST get it checked to make sure it's still safe. Sometimes a helmet can hit something and not show visible damage, but in reality it may not be safe in the event of another crash, which can put you in big trouble.

can u put a bicycle helmet in the dryer? or would it crack the plastic around it?

with the heat of the dryer..it will destroy the helmet and maki it useless
if it is dirty just clean it by hand with cleaners you can get at the store
