Is a hockey helmet good to use for a dirt bike?

I have a hockey helmet and my parents said use that for riding it but is it safe? I already have the 90cc dirt bike sitting at home but the helmet? What do you reccommend? If its not safe please explain why? I mean its cushioned inside like any other helmet. Thanks please reply! 10pts?

A hockey helmet is NOT safe. A hockey helmet is made to absorb LOW speed impacts. Bike helmets are made to absorb the impact from a bike crash.The shell and cushioning are not made the same. Also,a dirt helmet has a chin bar.Fall and slide on your face once and you will appreciate that. I did,chin bar acted like a little shovel but face was OK. lol. With the hockey helmet you could feel like you were protected and take chances that you wouldn't if you had nothing on! Besides do you really want to look like a dork riding with a hockey helmet? Actually, I think it's cute. Family time is always important and these people obviously value it.
