best road bike helmet 100 image
Q. I wanted to buy a nice cruiser motorcycle. Not want to get it for super long drives, but a few trips (~100-200 miles) every now and then, and cruising along in the city. So basically a good overall cruiser with decent performance in both city and freeway.
I had the following list in mind. It would be really helpful if someone would point me out pros and cons, and suggest any others that I missed out:
Yamaha V-star ( >500cc)
Triumph Speedmaster
Triumph America
Kawasaki Vulcan
Honda Shadow
HD Sportster (If I can find one in my budget)
All motorcycles I would be looking for newer than year 2000. And would be spending close to $5000.
Any idea How many miles should I be looking at?

We've gone through several mid-sized cruiser style bikes trying to find one that the wife likes and is comfortable on... (She's only 5' tall) I really liked the Suzuki Volusia (Boulevard C-50) but she thought it was too heavy. We finally settled on a Honda Shadow VT600, but now the business is keeping us occupied and there's barely any time left to ride.
Oh well... I'd say, in general, pretty much ANY of the mid sized 'metric' cruisers would be good for what you want to do. I'd just start shopping around until you find one you really like.
Even if you're just putting around town and a few short highway hops, don't forget the helmet and the protective gear. Road rash hurts just as bad if you get it during a short trip down the street as it does on those long distance cruises.

What are some good headphones to ride with?
Q. I want to listen to music when I ride (FMX, not on the road) and wondering if anybody knows which headphones cut a bit of sound out and fit inside your helmet nicely. I don't want to cut out 100% of my bike noise because i'll need to hear revs and if something sounds funny.
