I think is just about suicidal to ride a bike in big city traffic,trucks especially,making turns,are so very dangerous to the cyclists.I know lots of bike riders are careless about their rightful space on the roadway,but the whole motorists versus bikes thing is getting out of hand.
Do you as a cyclist,wear a helmet camera?How tolerant a motorist are you?

I commute everywhere by bike - never owned a car. I've been cycling for over 40 years, mostly in heavy traffic (I've always lived in a big city). I've never been hit by a car. Statistics show that, on a short commute (less than 5 miles) cycling is twice as safe as motoring.

If you take a central position in the general traffic lane and stay in the stream of traffic, it prevents a lot of the most common car-bike collisions. The vast majority of collisions happen to cyclists who are riding in the gutter and overtaking on the curbside.

I do not wear a camera while cycling. I've never driven a car so I can't say how tolerant a motorist I am.

looking for a helmet camera that can record in nice quality just incase i get run over while cycling to work maybe good enought quaity to get the license plate number, im paranoid so need one just incase someone trys to murder me, im looking at the hd hero 2 or contour hd but they dont impress me much in quality

The best one is probably the V.I.O. POV.HD. It's a little pricey though. It will run you about $500-$600 plus any non-default mounts.

Other lower priced cameras worth looking into are the Tachyon OPS HD and the ReplayXD 1080.
